Good Friday experience

Suitable for all ages, this will be more an experience than a traditional service; we’ll focus on the Bible’s account of what happened that terrible, wonderful day, and why it matters; there’ll be things to see, hear, do and feel. Followed by morning tea (with hot cross buns of course).

Hat Head Village Church moves to Sunday!

The Hat Head weekly service has met on Saturday evenings for many years, and for lots of good reasons - but times change, and now we’re ready to move to Sunday evening (well, late afternoon!). Not a morning person? Me either! Join us to sing praises to the Lord, read a passage from the Bible and discuss it together, offer our needs to God in prayer, and on the first Sunday of the month we’ll share the Lord’s supper informally together.

Lent Prayer Group

This year in the lead up to Easter, our focus is on prayer; we’ll read the Bible too, but it’s too easy to read and talk about prayer, but not actually do much! We meet in the Rectory next to the church at South West Rocks; and we’re praying for the members of our church, that we’ll grow to be more like Jesus. For our families members, friends and neighbours to discover the kindness of Jesus. For the other local churches, that God will do amazing things through their work in the community. For the Lower Macleay, that God’s Holy Spirit will call the people of this whole area to be friends with their wonderful, kind, loving, perfect Creator. Call Katie on 0428 724 072 if you’d like to come along.

Mid-Week Traditional Service

A little group gathers at Holy Trinity, South West Rocks, to enjoy a traditional rural style Anglican Prayer Book service, with robes, candles, hymns, and the Lord’s Supper. We dip into the Bible, and in such a small group there’s time to ask questions and make comments. And of course we pray together for the world, our community, and the church.

Sunday Morning service

Our regular Sunday service, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, South West Rocks. We follow an updated order of service, sing a mix of traditional, current and children’s songs, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. We look closely at a passage from the Bible, and strive to put it into practice, because God is unchanging - what mattered to Him when He created the world is what matters to Him today - and that’s all about relationships.

Mariner Nursing Home service

A few of us gather with folk who live in the Mariner Aged Care facility in Gregory Street South West Rocks; we sing lovely old hymns, read the Bible together, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. There are friends there who have been part of our church family for more than half a century; others we’re just getting to know!

Ash Wednesday Service

An intimate, traditional style Prayer-Book service of prayer, hymns and message. At the end you can opt to have an ash cross drawn on your forehead. The ash cross says that you know you haven’t lived fully in harmony with God and God’s values. It says that you repent - you are sorry and you have chosen to live in harmony with God from now on. And it say that you trust God’s promise, that all His anger against your sin was fully poured out on Jesus when he died on the cross. Now you are free to be friends with God forever!
